Farnell element14’s full NFC expansion board, Explore-NFC, helps designers implement external user interfaces for industrial and consumer devices that meet NFC compliance with Reader mode, P2P mode and Card Emulation standards.

Based on the PN512 NFC solution from NXP Semiconductors, the board features an integrated high performance antenna and is supported by an extensive software package (libnfc) while offering a flexible SPI interface.  Applications for NFC include contactless payment, meter readings, loyalty cards and more.

The board works with the Raspberry Pi, its Reader mode supports all 4 NFC tag types and NXP’s MIFARE command set. It comes with a flexible interface selection (SPI or I²C) together with software stack for SPI, and am integrated RF antenna
